Reinforced Drip Tube: The New Standard for Drip Systems in Phoenix

Traditional drip tube has met its match. There is a new choice available to home owners they may not know about.

Most people think when it comes to their drip system their only choices are regular drip tube or PVC. Many home owners choose PVC after their existing drip tube starts deteriorating and leaking. They complain that the tube doesn’t last very long (and it doesn’t) and they want something with better longevity.

But here’s the catch, PVC systems aren’t always the better alternative. First of all, they are more expensive to install because material cost is higher and labor is more intensive (deeper trenches, fixed angles, cutting and glueing). Second, the have a maintenance difficulty most people don’t think about right away…it’s more labor intensive to add or delete plants later. More cutting and glueing.

Furthermore, many installers of PVC systems put in drip ports throughout the yard with feeder lines:

These get stepped on and broken, they get brittle in the sun and their rubber gaskets leak.

D&L has a much better solution!

Dennis Lee, owner states, “I highly recommend an industrial grade reinforced drip tube. It will last much, much longer than common drip tube. We use it almost exclusively and people love it.”

Dennis explains drip tube has a useful life of about 8 to 12 years. Usually at and over the 10-year mark is when people start to experience age related problems like cracking and splitting of the tube and constant leaking. It’s a condition called dry rot that sets in and the only solution is to replace the old tube with new.

But some thin drip tube lasts even less time. Age and heat related issues can start showing up as early as 7 years old.

Reinforced drip tube is agricultural grade poly tube. It has all the advantages of PVC as far as strength and longevity, it will last 20 years or more. But it also has all the advantages of regular drip tube because it uses the same fittings, you can tap off for new plants with ease, cap off watering where needed without fuss, no fixed angles means you can run the tube in any configuration, and no cutting and glueing EVER.
